    Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal filed an additional affidavit in the Delhi High Court and renewed his request for Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma to step aside from the case. He argued that the situation creates a serious concern of bias. He also said that the issue cannot be ignored.

He pointed out that the judge’s son and daughter work as lawyers for the Centre. He added that Solicitor General Tushar Mehta assigns them cases. At the same time, Mehta represents the CBI and opposes Kejriwal’s plea.

Kejriwal said this creates a clear conflict of interest. He argued that the same legal system supports both the prosecution and the judge’s family. Because of this, he questioned the neutrality of the proceedings.

He also raised concerns about how the court handled the hearings. He said the court did not give him enough time to respond. He added that the hearing continued beyond court hours. He further claimed that the court passed important orders while his plea was still pending.

The case started after a trial court cleared Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and others. The CBI challenged that decision in the High Court. After long arguments, Justice Sharma reserved her decision. The matter is still under review.
