During an interaction at Cinemacon Yash confirmed that he and Ranbir Kapoor do not share screen space in the first installment of Ramayana. The film will release in two parts and the first chapter focuses on separate story arcs. Yash explained that Ravana and Rama rule their own kingdoms during this stage of the narrative. Because of this setup their characters do not meet yet.
Although they do not share scenes Yash said he has met Ranbir Kapoor a few times during the project. He praised Ranbir as a talented actor and said they share mutual respect. According to Yash both actors want to deliver something extraordinary through Ramayana. He added that the entire team shares the same vision for presenting the epic story.
Director Nitesh Tiwari plans to show a different side of Ravana in the film. Instead of portraying him as only a villain the story will highlight several aspects of his personality. The makers will show Ravana as a powerful warrior scholar and devoted follower of Lord Shiva. This approach aims to present a more layered version of the character.
Ramayana is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made with a reported budget of around ₹4000 crore. The film stars Sai Pallavi as Sita and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman while Ravie Dubey plays Lakshman. The project has created huge buzz among audiences.
