The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has declined the government’s invitation to hold another round of discussions at Health Minister JP Nadda’s residence. Party spokesperson Saurav Das said the protest movement would continue at Jantar Mantar, which he described as the “people’s court.” He urged government representatives to meet the protesters at the demonstration site instead of inviting them to a private residence. The party maintained that public concerns should be addressed in a transparent setting. Protesters have continued their sit-in while awaiting the government’s response.

CJP Insists on Talks at Jantar Mantar or Neutral Venue
Saurav Das stated that the party rejected the invitation to JP Nadda’s residence because it wanted discussions to take place among the people. However, he added that if security concerns prevented a meeting at Jantar Mantar, the party was willing to hold talks at a neutral venue nearby. According to Das, the government has not yet responded to this alternative proposal. He stressed that the movement would continue until meaningful action was taken. The party believes dialogue should remain open but take place in a public and neutral environment.
The CJP also reaffirmed that the protest would not end unless the government accepted its key demands. The party called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak controversy. It also sought financial assistance for families affected by the incident and demanded justice for students who reportedly suffered due to the examination issue. Leaders said they would continue peaceful demonstrations until these demands were addressed. Protesters have urged the Centre to respond without delay.
Protesters Reiterate Key Demands Before Further Negotiations
Among its major demands, the CJP has sought ₹1 crore in compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy. The party also demanded the withdrawal of FIRs registered against peaceful protesters. In addition, it asked the government to provide a formal assurance that no new cases would be filed against individuals participating in non-violent demonstrations related to the issue. Party leaders argued that peaceful protests should not invite legal action.
Earlier this week, Saurav Das and fellow spokesperson Ashutosh met JP Nadda and submitted a memorandum outlining the party’s demands. After the meeting, they stated that the government did not provide any commitment regarding Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. They also announced that future discussions would only take place at Jantar Mantar or another mutually agreed neutral location. The CJP has reiterated that it remains open to dialogue but will continue its protest until concrete decisions are made.
