Ajit Pawar confirmed both NCP factions will jointly contest Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections. This marks the first civic poll in Maharashtra where the divided party has formally decided to fight together after the split.
NCP Factions Unite for Pimpri-Chinchwad Civic Polls
Pawar did not reveal the seat-sharing arrangement between factions, while opposition parties await clarity on candidates. Moreover, he noted that with just two days left, rival parties remain under close observation. During Talawade campaigning, Pawar highlighted NCP’s development record in Pimpri-Chinchwad and encouraged workers to remain vigilant.

He added, “Whenever I visited you, your support never disappointed me, so continue staying alert always.” Furthermore, he emphasized, “We have demonstrated effective development here, and now it is time to sideline opponents.”
Party Reconciliation and Pune Talks
Pawar highlighted reconciliation within the party, saying NCP and NCP (SP) are contesting elections together. He added that focusing on development during campaigns and avoiding controversies remains the top priority for workers. Sources in Pune reported that both NCP factions continue negotiating seat-sharing for the Pune Municipal Corporation elections.
The Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) paused discussions with Maha Vikas Aghadi allies, stalling previous alliance negotiations. NCP (SP) skipped alliance talks on Sunday, creating speculation about possible political realignments at the civic level.
