    National Testing Agency (NTA) opened the application correction window for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 on March 12. Candidates who made mistakes in their application forms can now edit and update their details until March 14. Applicants can make corrections through the official website NEET NTA Official Website.

    The NEET UG 2026 application process began on February 8 and closed on March 11. With the correction window now open, candidates have a limited opportunity to review and update their submitted details.

    According to NTA, candidates can modify one of the following sets of details:

    • Father’s name, qualification, and occupation
      or
    • Mother’s name, qualification, and occupation

    Candidates can also make corrections in several other fields, including:

    • Educational qualification details for Class 10 and Class 12
    • The state or Union Territory where they passed or will appear for Class 12
    • Category and sub-category
    • PwD status
    • Signature
    • Number of attempts in NEET UG 2026

    In addition, applicants can change their exam city preferences and the medium of examination, depending on their permanent and current addresses.

    NEET Candidates Can Update Identity Details During Correction Window

    NTA also stated that candidates who registered using an identity document other than Aadhaar can update their identity details during this correction period. If any change affects the application fee, candidates must pay the applicable additional amount. NTA clarified that corrections requiring extra fees will become valid only after the payment is completed.

    The agency further noted that candidates will get only one opportunity to make corrections. Once they submit the updated form, the application will be frozen and no further modifications will be allowed.

    NEET UG remains the single national entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India. Over the past few years, the number of applicants for the exam has continued to grow. Last year, around 22.7 lakh candidates registered for NEET UG. In 2024, 24,06,079 candidates applied, while 20,87,462 candidates registered in 2023. Earlier, the number of registered candidates stood at 18,72,343 in 2022, 16,14,777 in 2021, 15,97,435 in 2020, and 15,19,375 in 2019, highlighting the steady rise in participation in the medical entrance exam.
