Police seek clarification over allegations against CM wife
Officials said Khera is likely to be in Telangana, a state governed by the Congress party. Police may question him regarding the statements he made during a recent press conference. Investigators want clarification on the claims he raised about passports and alleged foreign assets connected to Riniki Bhuyan Sharma.
The controversy began after Khera publicly questioned documents linked to the Assam chief minister’s wife. During a press briefing, he raised doubts about passport details and alleged foreign holdings. His remarks quickly sparked a strong response from the BJP leadership in Assam.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that his wife had filed a formal complaint against the Congress leader. He stated that the allegations made against her were completely false and politically motivated. Sarma also expressed confidence that the police would take action under relevant legal provisions.
