The Rajasthan government has restricted outsider entry into government schools without prior approval. Officials issued the order after the Cockroach Janta Party CJP announced inspections across several districts. The party claimed many schools faced poor infrastructure and shortages of essential facilities.
CJP Inspection Plan Triggers Political Controversy in Rajasthan
Under the new directions, visitors must receive permission from the principal before entering school campuses. Authorities have also made visitor-register entries compulsory for every person entering school premises. Visitors cannot access classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, playgrounds or other student areas without supervision. The government has also restricted photography, videography, interviews, recordings and live streaming involving students. Principals must provide written permission before allowing such activities for lawful purposes. Schools must protect students’ privacy, dignity and safety while preventing unauthorised sharing of personal information.
The education department cited child safety, privacy rights and existing guidelines while issuing these restrictions. Officials can deny entry when visitors threaten school security, discipline or regular educational activities. Schools can also seek police assistance against people who violate the new directions. The restrictions have triggered criticism from Rajasthan Assembly Opposition Leader Tika Ram Jully. He accused the BJP government of hiding problems instead of addressing infrastructure and teacher shortages. Jully threatened civil disobedience and demanded that authorities withdraw the order immediately.
