    Ranbir Kapoor confirmed he will play a double role in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming Ramayana film. He will portray Lord Rama as the main character and Parshurama as the second avatar. The dual role was hinted in the latest teaser but had not been officially confirmed until now. At the Los Angeles teaser launch, Ranbir explained how he approached playing both characters differently. He used distinct body language and voice modulation to reflect Rama’s and Parshurama’s unique temperaments.

The actor emphasized portraying both characters authentically to match the epic’s grandeur and narrative depth. Ranbir told Collider that the film’s sequences rival large-scale productions like Lord of the Rings.

    The team shot six hours of epic visuals combining mythology, action, and cinematic spectacle seamlessly. The teaser depicts the legendary encounter between Rama and Parshurama vividly in the storyline. After marrying Sita, Rama meets Parshurama on his journey back to Ayodhya, as legends describe. Parshurama challenges Rama but stops immediately after recognizing him as Vishnu’s divine avatar. The teaser also features Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Arun Govil as King Dashrath. Ranbir’s double portrayal emphasizes both characters’ spiritual depth and heroic attributes convincingly. The film’s visuals and character performances have generated excitement and anticipation among audiences globally.

    Nitesh Tiwari blends mythology and cinematic storytelling to deliver an immersive epic experience. Sai Pallavi will portray Goddess Sita, while Yash plays Ravana, the demon king convincingly. Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey plays the loyal brother Lakshman. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh portray Mandodari and Surpanakha, supporting the story effectively. Other cast members include Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan. The casting ensures alignment with both mythological authenticity and cinematic requirements for impact.

    Ramayana Part I is scheduled for theatrical release this Diwali, generating high audience anticipation. Part II will release during Diwali 2027, continuing the epic’s story with more action sequences. Actors trained extensively to embody the characters’ emotions, movements, and divinity authentically on screen. The film combines drama, action, and devotion to modernize the classic epic for audiences worldwide. Ranbir explained that portraying both avatars required focused preparation and careful performance differentiation.
