Sonam Wangchuk arrived at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Saturday and openly supported the protesting students. Sonam Wangchuk said he personally dislikes protests, but raising voices for justice has now become extremely necessary. Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke led the protest while strongly criticizing government policies and examination systems. He claimed millions of students were suffering because of repeated irregularities in recruitment and competitive examinations nationwide. Dipke again demanded the resignation of the Union Education Minister while accusing authorities of administrative failures recently. He also stated that his mother feared authorities might imprison him for speaking openly against government policies publicly. His remarks triggered debates among supporters regarding democracy, freedom of expression, and citizens’ constitutional rights nationwide.
During the protest, students, teachers, and social activists strongly demanded transparency and accountability within the education sector nationwide. Demonstrators alleged repeated irregularities were affecting examination processes, recruitment systems, and student opportunities across several institutions regularly.
