    According to the police in Bhind, the victim Rudra Pratap Singh Jatav had an ongoing dispute with a family in the neighbourhood.

    Dispute Turns Deadly in Bhind Village

    Police said neighbours allegedly beat a 35-year-old Dalit man to death after a dispute in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district, causing tension in the village. The victim’s family and other residents reacted by vandalising a house belonging to one of the accused. The incident occurred Saturday evening in a village under Daboh police station, about 65 km from the district headquarters. According to officials, the victim, Rudra Pratap Singh Jatav, had an ongoing conflict with a neighbouring family. Bhind Superintendent of Police (SP) Asit Yadav told The Indian Express: This was a fight between the two parties over a small dispute, which snowballed into a big fight. One of the accused hit the victim on the head with a stick during the fight which caused his death.

    Violence Flares After Dalit Man Succumbs to Assault Injuries

    The dispute escalated on Saturday when five members of the Kaurav family allegedly attacked Rudra Pratap Singh Jatav with sticks, leaving him severely injured, said Daboh SHO Rajesh Sharma. An elderly man who tried to stop the assault also sustained injuries. Police rushed Jatav to a nearby hospital and later referred him to Gwalior for advanced treatment, but he died on the way. After learning of his death, the victim’s relatives and villagers reacted with anger. They allegedly vandalised a house belonging to one of the accused and set it on fire along with a car and a motorcycle parked outside.
