TTP intensifies war against Pakistan, poses a headache for Imran Khan

The Pakistan military establishment(TTP) and the general population of the country had celebrated. When the Taliban overthrew the elected Afghan government to capture Kabul and re-establish its rule over Afghanistan.

However, Pakistan’s mistaken impression that it managed to win the proxy war against India in Afghanistan proven to be false. When the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) started carrying out regular attacks inside Pakistan with the support of their Pashtun brothers.

Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has returned to its violent ways in Pakistan, posing a major challenge to the Imran Khan government after the Taliban takeover as horrors of the Peshawar Army school attack still haunts Islamabad, a report said.

The TTP has returned to violent ways since 2014 and since the summer of last year, engaged with the authorities. Frequently and more menacingly as the number of attacks by the group has surged in recent months in Pakistan. Said International Forum For Right And Security (IFFRAS). After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, its victory made the TTP galvanize and it stepped up attacks in Pakistan.

The group has claimed to have carried out 32 attacks in August 2021 alone the highest monthly figure this year. An attack on September 5 last year killed three Pakistani paramilitary forces, said IFFRAS.

However, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the situation remained “dynamic” and, although the Taliban gains had not changed the withdrawal, there was still the flexibility to alter its “pace and scope”.

The hardline Islamist group’s recent advances were the result of an “intensified military campaign”, Ms Lyons told the the 15-member UN Security Council in New York.
