Direct connectivity between India and China has strengthened as Air China resumes its Beijing–Delhi service, according to China’s Global Times. The airline restarted the route on Tuesday, making it the second India route revived by Chinese carriers this month. The service will run three times a week—Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—using an Airbus A330 aircraft. Economy fares are expected to begin at 3,570 yuan (about USD 523), with flights departing at 3:15 pm and arriving in Delhi at 8:20 pm (local time).
The move follows the recent resumption of flights by China Eastern Airlines, which restarted its direct Kunming–Kolkata service on April 18. According to reports, this marks the airline’s latest expansion in the China–India network after relaunching its Shanghai–Delhi route in November 2025. The Kunming–Kolkata route will operate six round-trip flights a week using Boeing 737 aircraft, aiming to improve travel ease and boost cooperation between the two countries.
