an Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has explained his victory in Bankipur. He defeated the BJP in its traditional stronghold during the Bihar Assembly bypoll. Kishor rejected the idea that Gen Z protests directly influenced the result. He blamed local political factors, especially Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary’s lack of broad social acceptance.
Kishor said youth protests reflect deeper problems across Bihar and India. He pointed to paper leaks, coaching institute influence and unemployment. He also highlighted economic stress and growing pressure from artificial intelligence. According to him, these issues have created strong frustration among young people. He believes such unrest will continue unless authorities address its root causes.

Kishor also described his Bankipur victory as a sign of alternative politics. He said voters often choose the BJP or RJD because of fear. However, he wants voters to support candidates based on performance. He credited three years of groundwork for the Jan Suraaj Party’s first electoral victory. Now, he says, the party must prove itself through actual work.
After winning, Kishor announced several commitments for Bankipur residents. He plans to ensure families receive their full five-kilogram free ration. He also wants to stop bribes during ration card applications. Further, the JSP will support children if government schools fail to improve within one year. Kishor also promised employment support for around 10,000 families.
Kishor said education and employment will remain his main priorities. He wants Bankipur to become an example for other constituencies in Bihar. He also promised voters that they would not feel ashamed of their MLA. If he succeeds, he plans to seek support across Bihar. He urged voters to move beyond caste and religion and choose better candidates.
