Government Set to Introduce Key Constitutional Bills
The BJP-led NDA government will likely reintroduce the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill on women’s reservation and delimitation with revised provisions. The revised bill may increase the strength of the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies by 50 percent. The government will also table the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill, which proposes removing the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, and Ministers from office if they remain in jail for more than 30 days. A Joint Parliamentary Committee will recommend safeguards to prevent misuse of the proposed legislation.
The government will also present several other important bills during the session. These proposals may include the One Nation, One Election initiative, amendments to the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), education reforms under the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan, anti-doping reforms, corporate law amendments, and the Securities Market Code. The Centre may also seek Parliament’s approval to increase the number of Supreme Court judges. These bills will form a major part of the legislative agenda.

Opposition Gears Up to Corner Centre on Key Issues
The opposition has prepared an aggressive strategy and plans to question the government on several important issues. Opposition leaders will raise concerns over the NEET paper leak, the alleged Ram Temple theft case, rising petrol and diesel prices, inflation, and unemployment. They will also question the Centre over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and accuse it of encouraging political instability in regional parties. These issues are expected to dominate discussions in both Houses.
Political observers expect this Monsoon Session to become one of the most significant sessions of the year. After its recent electoral victories in West Bengal and Assam, the BJP will likely adopt a more aggressive strategy inside Parliament. Meanwhile, opposition parties will continue to challenge the government on governance, transparency, and electoral matters. With several major bills and politically sensitive issues on the agenda, Parliament is likely to witness heated debates and repeated confrontations throughout the session.
