The death of Premanand Maharaj’s disciple Deepak Lodhi has raised fresh questions in Vrindavan. Police are investigating a grinder, injuries and CCTV footage surrounding his fatal fall.
They are also checking whether deleted chats, videos or photographs could provide important clues. Deepak Lodhi, also known as Rashik Dulari Sharan, joined Premanand Maharaj’s spiritual fold around two years ago. He died after allegedly jumping from the fourth-floor terrace of Guru Kripa Kunj Ashram. Police received information after he suffered severe injuries following the fall. Investigators reviewed CCTV footage showing his movements shortly before the incident. The footage reportedly showed Sharan leaving his room before reaching the terrace.

Police Examine CCTV and Deleted Data for Clues
Police have treated the incident as a suspected suicide based on available CCTV evidence. However, investigators continue examining events that happened before the fatal fall. Police recovered a grinder from the room where Sharan had been staying. Forensic experts are examining the grinder for fingerprints and other evidence linked to the incident. Investigators also found a serious injury involving his private parts during examination. They are trying to determine how the injury occurred and whether anyone else was involved. Police have collected blood samples and other evidence for detailed forensic examination. The post-mortem report recorded multiple injuries, including serious injuries to his head and body.
Doctors attributed his death to excessive bleeding following those injuries, according to police. Meanwhile, investigators have sent Sharan’s mobile phone to a forensic laboratory. Experts are attempting to recover deleted chats, videos, photographs and other potentially relevant digital information. Police hope the recovered data can explain his activities before the incident. They are also examining additional CCTV footage to reconstruct his final movements. Investigators have questioned people who stayed at or visited the ashram. Several saints in Vrindavan have meanwhile demanded a detailed and high-level investigation. They want authorities to establish exactly what happened before Sharan reached the terrace. For now, police continue examining CCTV footage, forensic evidence and digital records from his phone. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not established the complete circumstances surrounding his death.
