The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre confirmed that the tanker was struck by a projectile near Limah, Oman. The attack reportedly set the vessel on fire and disrupted movement in one of the world’s busiest shipping routes.

Meanwhile, thousands of mourners gathered in Tehran for the funeral procession of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. His coffin was later taken to the holy city of Qom, where additional religious ceremonies will continue.
Senior Iranian officials joined thousands of supporters during the funeral procession. The ceremony also honored four members of Khamenei’s family who died in the February 28 airstrike that marked the beginning of the regional conflict.
