Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has warned Congress leaders about voter deletions. He said Telangana SIR could put nearly 21% of votes at risk. The warning came during a tense meeting with ministers and senior party leaders. Reddy asked leaders to act quickly before the draft electoral rolls appear. He also warned that failures could lead to strict action under AICC directions.
Reddy asked in-charge ministers to review every Assembly constituency within two days. They must identify voters who could lose their names from the rolls. Assembly constituency in-charges must stay for four days and resolve voter-related issues. The leaders must also coordinate with Parliamentary constituency in-charges. They will prepare detailed reports before August 17.

The Chief Electoral Officer said voters received 3,38,26,448 enumeration forms across Telangana. Officials received 2,64,73,616 completed forms during the SIR process. The remaining 73,52,832 forms remain uncollectable. Officials will mark these voters as absent, shifted or dead. More than 45 lakh voters reportedly fall under the permanently shifted category. Over 11 lakh voters remain absent or untraceable.
The Telangana SIR process ended at midnight on August 10. Around 78% of existing voters completed the enumeration process. The Election Commission will publish draft electoral rolls on August 17. Voters can then submit claims and objections until October 15. Congress leaders will help eligible voters complete fresh enrolment through Form 6. The final electoral rolls will appear on October 19.
Reddy warned Congress leaders that voter losses could cause major political damage. He asked ministers to take EC notices seriously and assist affected voters. Meanwhile, BRS leader D Sravan demanded complete disclosure of the SIR data. He questioned why more than 73 lakh forms remained uncollectable. The Telangana SIR exercise has now become a major political concern for all parties.
